Advent like it used to be
It becomes silent...
on the first Advent Sunday at 17:00 when the Bad Gleichenberger Advent is opened in the spa gardens. Without the glitz, the twinkles, without alcohol. The electric lights are turned off. Only natural light sources provide light and warmth.
Advent means reflection. However, silence and reflection have almost become foreign words to us. Pausing for a moment is difficult and silence can become eerie. Bad Gleichenberg has accepted the challenge of slowing down and decelerating and, as a consequence, chosen a different direction for its advent program. On the second Advent Sunday, children are the focus at the Christmas market.
Evening walks with lanterns, trips to nativity scene exhibitions and concerts round off the program.
